I really didn't know much about Steve Jobs but I was curious when I saw this link and was inspired by his story. A few of the quotes he shared really stuck with me and when faced with the brevity of our lives, things seem to take on a new depth of meaning.

Valerie. I listened to this speech this morning when it was replayed on the news. The man was so sick but still so involved in his company. He speech is inspirational.
Hi Valerie! Yea...it really makes you pause and think about each day you spend here and the value of every experience. No one knows how much time you have on this earth... we do well to make it count in our own unique way!!!
Valerie - I loved this speech - I watched it a while ago, and it was so human and so inspiring. I'm a huge Apple fan - I'm very sad Steve Jobs wasn't able to enjoy a well deserved retirment.
Valerie -- this was a truly inspirational speech that Steve Jobs made at Stanford Univ's commencement in 2005. I was lucky enough to hear it live since I worked there at the time. He knew that he faced a short timeline for his remaining years, and he showed us all how to die with grace and gratitude.
Sally~ You are right...so human! While his years were not many, his legacy is huge and he can move on knowing he has impacted sooooo many lives. Even just with this speech alone...how cool is that.

You're right. Life and Death, you can't have one without the other. Thank God for the death, burial, and ressurection of Jesus Christ so that I could live. I couldn't have life without him. Now OR later.
Valerie, I was always a Mac user and although I would never venture from them because of my design background, I didn't know in the eyes of Mac you could learn about life too. Steve Jobs really was motivational and mysterious. His words and ideas transformed so many of us. Can you imagine the power his speech brought to all those students? And now how deep it transends so many of us.

Valerie - thanks for putting up this inspiring video of Steve Jobs' 2005 Commencement speech at Staford University. He was a true visionary and a man of the people. He was known to shop in his town, talk to the every day "Joe" on the street and never let his unparalleled work turn him into an arrogant person like so many others that have reached success. That more than anything is most impressive to me! He makes us all want to live the life we are supposed to live - not the one everyone expects us to live - what a powerful message. I think of him every day when I turn on my IPad (which I LOVE)!
Valerie, Valerie you're back. Nice to see you again. How fitting and inspriation this man was. What an impact he had on all our lives. To think that not long ago there were no cell phones, let alone IPhones or IPads and computers were something I don't think any of us, older ones, that is could have ever imagined such a world that we find ourselves a part of now. I mean really, I own an IPAD, a computer, soon a IPhone 4S or 5 as soon as Sprint gets on the ball, and life is wonderful.
I think Steve Jobs is up in heaven and teaching the angels a thing or 2. He will be sorely missed down here. I didn't know him, never met him but he touched my life and I mourn his death. I pray for his family and his soul. Love this video.
I was so inspired yesterday thinking about him, I decided to "live like I'm dying" (you know that song?) and yesterday and today I decided to live like this was my last day on earth. Of course, I'm not out spending all my money or taking a vacation but I'm thinking more on the lines of being a better person. And, at the end of the day to reflect; did I do anything to help someone else in along my path.
Yesterday, as I was volunteering at our local hospital, I work for the Patient Advocate's Office, and in my day, I visit with people who have just been admitted. I let them know we're there for them if they need us, and with our new Client Services division, I let them know we have cell phone chargers (which many people forget), magazines, music, etc. All and all it's a great experience.
I stopped at the chapel first thing on my way to see the patients, to give thanks and to pray for the sick. One patient was dying for a cup of coffee, another wanted a Washington Post, and two others needed a charger. I went downstairs and got one patient a cup of coffee, and purchased two newspapers, and left my reading glasses for another patient along with a newspaper while he was in the bathroom so he could read the paper.
It's such a joy to visit patients and even though these were just little things I could do, it brought a smile to their faces. And, when you're in pain or anticipating an operation, or not knowing exactly what's wrong, it's nice to be able to make someone smile.
Thanks for remember Steve Jobs. Exceptional human being. He will be missed more than any of us know. :)
