It is quite natural for us to look to God for help and guidance, assistance in our needs and supplications. After all...he is our Father. He loves to aid us, comfort us, supply us with our needs. He tells us come to him and ask because he Loves us... but Love is a two way street! There is no greater gift that we can give God than our friendship to Him. We know he is our friend, but how good of a friend are we to Him?? It brings great joy to his heart when we stop for just one second out of our busy day and say..."Hello Lord...I love you... what can I do for you today?"

I think of it this way...If you have a friend and every time you speak the conversation is all about them, how does that make you feel? It might be ok one time but if that happens every time you come in contact with them you may feel that they don't really care much about you. God is not proud but he does enjoy the friendship we give. Talk...Yes...but listen more. He has a lot to say!

So...open your ears, open your heart and be a good friend!!!!

Prayer of Joy

"Joy is the messenger, dear Lord, that bears our prayers to thee"

 "Prayer can be like incense rising ever higher and higher, or it can be like a low earth-mist clinging to the ground, never once soaring. The Eye that sees all, the Ear that hears all, knows every cry. But the prayer of real faith is the prayer of Joy, that sees and knows the heart of Love it rises to greet, and that is so sure of a glad response."

 I suppose that if you are "sure of a glad response" you can't help but have Joy!!! Sometimes our prayers do remain low, sure... God hears us...he always hears us, but what makes our prayers effective??? It is not in the asking for he knows our need before we come to Him...but rather, the key lies in the disposition of our hearts. Do we pray with doubt?? Do we question the answer?? When we pray we need to trust. We should add to every prayer..."Grant me this request Lord, if it be your will!!" He knows what we need way more than we do and he ALWAYS has our best interest at heart!
